30 Hour Famine
Each year, students in the U.S. and around the world unite to learn about hunger, raise funds to help the hungry, and then go hungry themselves for 30 hours! Many young people including our Youth are taking it upon themselves to make a difference in their communities — and globally.
This year, more than 110,000 students across the country will go hungry to raise funds and hunger awareness by participating in the 30 Hour Famine. Teens participating in the Famine give up food for 30 hours to get a taste of what the world’s poorest children face. Participants consume only water and juice as they perform local community service projects in places such as food banks, soup kitchens, and homeless shelters. These young people are taking action on behalf of the nearly 870 million people who don’t have enough food to eat.
